R4 GPS and DGPS Navigation System

Any transponder system needs navigation input. Saab's R4 GPS and DGPS Navigation System is type-approved for SOLAS and any other precision navigation application.

Includes RAIM and support for DGPS corrections from an external receiver, from an internal beacon receiver (R4 DGPS) or from satellite differential services, e.g. WAAS or EGNOS

AIS WatchMate - Display only

The AISWatchMate is a dedicated display for use with AIS receivers and transponders. It creates a standalone collision warning and AIS display system. This unique product features sophisticated filters to reduce the clutter associated with AIS targets and it has the ability to prioritize targets based on their risk of collision. This allows you to focus on the most dangerous targets.

The AISWatchMate draws very little power so it can be left turned on at all times for increased safety at sea.

Saab R4 AIS Class B Transponder

R4-Class B R4 Class B is the quality choice for low cost AIS tracking applications. It is also an ideal tool for improved situation Awareness in smaller commercial vessels or recreational crafts.
The R4 Class B Transponder complies with IEC 62287 FDIS.

The transponder can be used as a standalone unit for distributing positions or be connected chart plotter or Electronic Chart System and display the navigational traffic situation surrounding your vessel.
The R4 Class B Transponder will give advantages, such as:

• Improved safety through enhanced situation awareness. The location of Class A and Class B equipped ships can be displayed on a chart plotter or ECS system
• Faster and more accurate location in Vessel distress (Search and Rescue Operations)
• Improved fleet management and control through monitoring from a control centre

R4 AIS R4 AIS Transponder System is our 4th generation design. The core of the transponder is a software defined radio, combined with a high quality built-in GPS receiver and processor. The IMO compliant Saab R4 carries type approvals from a number of countries, including EU, US Coast Guard, Russia, India, Brazil and China. It can be installed as stand-alone AIS or in combination with our R4 DGPS sensor.

Saab R4 Portable Solution

This solution has been defined for customers who want to be able to move their AIS (or Secure AIS) between different platforms or even use it on shore. The transponder box connects either to the R4 Control and Display unit or to a separate rugged PC for control and display.
