Greenfinder SB has core skills and expertise in project management to a wide variety of maritime projects, including:
  • Remote and offshore construction
  • Renovation of the wide range heritage listed structures
  • Implementing innovative options for navigational aids and support structures
  • Integration of new technology into maritime safety
Asset management information is vital to those authorities responsible for maritime safety assets. Decisions about investment, service delivery and maintenance depend on the quality of information provided. We understands the importance of management information and has developed its systems to ensure that key information is captured, analysed and presented to its customers. Greenfinder SB has developed a complete management system for customers which includes Navaids databases, work program scheduling and performance statistics (KPI) recording. We had a range of standard inspection reports that cover the equipment and systems it services and maintains. Information is consolidated from inspection reports into a database for transfer to the customer’s IT system. Inspection reports and data formats can be customised to meet customer requirements.

Greenfinder SB operates a rigorous system for recording, and analysing failures. A standard failure report format is used to gather relevant information and to provide a basis for applying corrective actions. Failure data and statistical analysis can be provided in a format to meet customer’s IT systems and any other requirements.  We operates a defect reporting system that targets equipment problems that might not initially result in a failure. A standard defect reporting system
has been developed that enables analysis of defects and the application of preventive actions before problems lead to operational failures. Defect analysis and feedback assist us to select the most suitable equipment for application to the maritime environment. Trends and modifications are reported back to manufacturers to assist them in improving their products.

Maintenance

In addition to maintenance services for maritime navigation aids and search and rescue equipment we are able to provide a range of other cost effective and quality maintenance services covering:
  • Assets located in remote areas or areas difficult to acces
  • Maritime facilities generally (eg jetties, marinas)
  • Remote monitoring equipment
  • Structures that support maritime aids to navigation usually represent the single largest investment by an aid to navigation authority. The inspection, care and maintenance of structures are keys to the delivery of economical service.
The design of innovative, technically sound structures that are cost effective, visually appropriate and suitable for the marine environment is an important part of the improvement projects that our staff have managed.  During regular service visits our technical staff can employ many specialised and effective strategies to minimise the harmful effects of the maritime environment on our customers structures.  Staff are trained to look for symptoms of trouble and to take appropriate corrective action, where practical, without the need for a return visit. Our personnel have a sound knowledge of materials, maintenance processes and the marine environment enabling them to assess the potential for damage and to carry out repairs.

Where appropriate corrective action is beyond the scope of a routine service visit staff are trained to gather relevant information that will enable the customer to make an informed decision about the options for repair or replacement of a damaged asset In-house skills for the design of maritime structures enable us to offer a complete design service. Strategic alliances with specialists enable us to also draw on other fields of expertise to verify design data and confirm suitability of manufacturing and installation processes.  Our personnel have hundreds of years of experience in assessing the performance of various types of marine structures enabling them to avoid many of the common design shortfalls that serve to reduce the life of structures.
