Saab TransponderTech to supply Coastal VTMIS to Croatia

Linköping, 3 February, 2009 Following the successful supply of a VTS to Romania, SAAB TransponderTech has received a first order for its new CoastWatch VTMIS. As a long time world leading player within AIS solutions, SAAB TransponderTech now takes a further step into the market for VTS/VTMIS solutions. |

The system will be used for monitoring and surveillance of maritime traffic outside the Croatian coast and its major harbors and ports. Ten advanced radar sensors delivered from Terma A/S will together with AIS data be integrated into the system which comprises one national control center, 3 regional and 8 local control centers. Additional sensors like VHF and CCTV can easily be integrated into the system in the future. The project is financed by EU and has been awarded in competition with major international players and is expected to open up possibilities for future VTS/VTMIS-projects all over the world. The system will be delivered during 2009 and completed during 2010.
